Ayurveda- ‘the science of life’ is an age-old natural science of healing dating back to 600 BC. Having found its early origin in this land, it is fast spreading far and wide. Kerala, with its rich abundance of forests and equitable climate is a haven for the herbs that are used in Ayurveda and hence is practiced in all its authenticity and purity.

The word “Ayurveda” is derived from ‘Ayur’, which means ‘life’ and ‘veda’ which means the ‘science of knowledge’. It is a healing science that believes not only in the healing of the affected part, but the individual as a whole. That is the reason why a person who has been through Ayurveda not only comes cured of his or illness, but also with a rejuvenated mind. The ayurvedic science is detailed to the extent of giving a specific cure for each and every affected part of the body. It believes in eradicating the ailment in total by actually removing the factors or the basic cause of the ailment.

Relaxation, a balance diet and good food habits are the basics of this age-old science. For a complete session in Ayurveda you could stay in one of the many Ayurveda Resorts, set in serene and peaceful environment for a couple of days or weeks. Experienced hands at ayurvedic massages will give you the most relaxing oil massages, steam baths for your entire body making it a rejuvenating experience for both your mind and body.

The science of Ayurveda, uses only handpicked natural herbs, shrubs and oils for the treatments and therefore is most natural way to healing with no side or after effects.
